\"\"The Whistler Canyon Trail <\/a>(Hike no. 2 in my Day Hiking Eastern Washington<\/a> book) is a gem. Located just south of Oroville, this Okanogan River Valley Trail is part of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail<\/a>. One of the best places in the state to see California bighorn sheep, this trail also offers stunning valley views, old growth forest and a pretty little waterfall. And it may soon be closed to the public once more! After securing this trailhead and a right of way, the county is auctioning off the parcel that guarantees this access. What a shame! But, there is still time to stop this. But you must act fact. The property goes up for auction this Friday. Please make a donation to the Pacific Northwest Trail Association<\/a> so that they may buy the property out right and permanently secure access to this trail. I wrote my check! Will you help too?
