Natural Skagit: A Journey From Mountains to Sea<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This new book designed to celebrate and help protect wildlife habitat and rural landscapes in Skagit County, Washington was launched to an excited crowd of over 300 at Skagit Gardens on November 13, 2008. Published by the Skagit Land Trust,<\/a> the book was a major collaborative effort consisting of eight main authors, several fact-checkers, scores of photographers and a dedicated steering committee. Notables who participated in this beautiful coffee table book include Pulitzer winning journalist  William Dietrich,<\/a> Best-selling author Tom Robbins<\/a>, and notable photographer Lee Mann<\/a>. It was directed and edited by Patricia Chambers<\/a>. I wrote the first chapter highlighting the region’s peoples and history. All proceeds from this book go directly to the Skagit Land Trust for land acquisition and protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
